Can social networking be unhealthy? I think the thrust of this article is that anything done to excess can be bad for you. Yes spending tons of time in front of the computer can result in weaker social interactions, and poorer social skills. This in turn can directly affect one’s health. On the other hand I have seen social networking lead to people getting together. For example, people on Twitter regularly have “tweetups” where they get together and socialize. The bottom line is: it’s all about being balanced – social networking can be a double edged sword.
